Yesterday I recieved a letter from the "YES" on the South Dakota abortion ban group. At first I was going to throw it away, but then I thought to myself, "What if this is a last-minute, manipulative, nasty mail piece?" So, I opened the letter. What I next read shocked me. This letter claims to apparently be from the democratic party, telling its members that South Dakota Democrats support the ban. I was shocked that is written to actually sound like it was sent from the Democratic Party. This letter was likely mailed to democrats throughout the state like myself (they obviously knew I am a Democrat).
It gets worse, below the fold:
Myspace is the third most popular website in the United States with well over 100 million accounts and tens of millions of individual users. A great deal of it's users are young adults most of whom probably feel disenfranchised with our current government. We have an oppurtunity to increase voter turnout across the country if we can work together to communicate accross this vast network.
The plan after the fold...
CNN has put out a piece of garbage that looks like it came straight from the GOP.
"WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Faced with fending off the backlash from the Mark Foley scandal, House Republicans took the offensive Friday, asking Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats to testify about whether they engaged in partisan trickery by releasing Foley's messages weeks before the midterm elections.
Top GOP leaders -- including House Speaker Dennis Hastert, of Illinois, and Majority Leader John Boehner, of Ohio -- have accused the Democrats of knowing about Foley's correspondences with teen pages, and waiting to release them until it was politically advantageous. "
What the hell kind of reporting is that? How could they fail to mention that the accusations are totally baselsss? So the republicans fail to protect our children, then they cry foul on democrats for talking about it? NONE of the democrats knew about this, it wasn't a plot by George Soros. Why do they report it as fact even though all the facts are to the contrary? Are they doing a favor for the republicans?

In an incredible act against science, the House of Representatives voted to make deep cuts to essential NOAA programs. During a time when global warming and increasing Hurricane activity pose enormous threats to our nation. House Republicans have decided to take a stand against the future of our nation and our planet.
June 29, 2006 -- The U.S. House of Representatives passed an appropriations bill today that would cut approximately $500 million from the budget of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in fiscal year 2007.The massive budget cut passed the House of Representatives less than one year after NOAA was widely praised for its success in forecasting hurricane Katrina and protecting thousands of people from death or injury. According to NOAA, the House bill would fail to fund day-to-day operations of the agency's aircraft, which are the nation's first line of defense for monitoring and forecasting hurricanes and tropical storms.
